DEFUNCT RIVER BOARD.
PAYING OFF LIABILITIES. LOAN OF £4700 TO BE RAISED. [from our own correspondent.] PUKEKOHE. Wednesday. A formal resolution to join with the Waikato County Council and the Raglan County Council in raising a loan of £4700 to pay off the remaining liabilities of the defunct Waikato River Board, was passed by the Franklin County Council to-day. It was explained that the loan, which would bear interest at a rate not exceeding 5| per cent., would be repaid over 35 years. The Franklin council would pay £l2O per annum, Waikato £133, and Raglan £BO.
