SHIP DISPUTE SETTLED.
CREW AND THEIR MONEY.
DEPARTURE OF WAIRUNA.
terms not announced
After being delayed at Auckland for a day owing to trouble with the crew, the Union Company's steamer Wairuna sailed for Napier last evening. The dispute concerned the rate of exchange the men had to pay on money advanced to them when the vessel was at American ports, and the crew refused to take the Wairuna to sea on Tuesday evening. The vessel s departure was postponed until noon yesterday. No settlement of the dispute was arrived at yesterday morning, and at sailing time the crew again refused to go to sea. The matter was then referred to Wellington, where a conference took place between the management of the Union Company and official* of the Federated Seamen's Union. This resulted in _ a satisfactory settlement, the terms of which have not been announced, and the Wairuna sailed for Napier, Wellington, Lyttclton, Dunedin and Australia shortly after six o'clock last evening.
