ROTORUA TOURNAMENT. CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES FINAL. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] ROTORUA, Wednesday. The South Auckland Croquet tournament was continued to-day in fine weather. In the final of the championship doubles, Mesdames Tucker and Pearce (Cambridge) defeated Mesdames Richards and Worthington (Rotorua), 2G—l4. The result was a fairly easy win for Mesdames Tucker and Pearce, who were never very seriously challenged. Level Singles.—Semi-final: Mrs. Kibblewhite beat Mrs. Meikle, 2G—6. Final: Mrs. Kibblewhite (New Zealand champion) met Mrs. Bartlett (Frankton). Mrs. Kibblewhite had up to this point played excellent croquet throughout the tourney, but failed to maintain form in this match, and Mrs. Bartlett won, 2G—lO. In the second life of the South Auckland Championship Cup, Mrs. Kibblewhite won by dofault from Mr. Managh and in the play-off Mrs. Kibblewhite defeated Mrs. Tucker, 20—12. The final will be played to-morrow morning. The side competitions were completed today, the winners of which were:—Target, Mrs. Meikle (Te Aroha); potting, Mrs. Dyson (Rotorua); ladder, Mrs. Pearce (Otahuhu). HAMILTON TOURNAMENT. [FROM our own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Wednesday. The Hamilton Ladies' Croquet Club's annual tournament was continued to-day on the club's greens, under excellent weather conditions. The lawns were in perfect order and many close and enjoyable games were played.
