ROTORUA TOURNAMENT. CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES FINAL. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] ROTORUA, Wednesday. The South Auckland Croquet tournament was continued to-day in fine weather. In the final of the championship doubles, Mesdames Tucker and Pearce (Cambridge) defeated Mesdames Richards and Worthington (Rotorua), 2G—l4. The result was a fairly easy win for Mesdames Tucker and Pearce, who were never very seriously challenged. Level Singles.—Semi-final: Mrs. Kibblewhite beat Mrs. Meikle, 2G—6. Final: Mrs. Kibblewhite (New Zealand champion) met Mrs. Bartlett (Frankton). Mrs. Kibblewhite had up to this point played excellent croquet throughout the tourney, but failed to maintain form in this match, and Mrs. Bartlett won, 2G—lO. In the second life of the South Auckland Championship Cup, Mrs. Kibblewhite won by dofault from Mr. Managh and in the play-off Mrs. Kibblewhite defeated Mrs. Tucker, 20—12. The final will be played to-morrow morning. The side competitions were completed today, the winners of which were:—Target, Mrs. Meikle (Te Aroha); potting, Mrs. Dyson (Rotorua); ladder, Mrs. Pearce (Otahuhu). HAMILTON TOURNAMENT. [FROM our own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Wednesday. The Hamilton Ladies' Croquet Club's annual tournament was continued to-day on the club's greens, under excellent weather conditions. The lawns were in perfect order and many close and enjoyable games were played. The following were the results:— Handicap Doubles.—Mesdames Carbon and Bern beat Mesdames Denz and Council, 2G—IG: Mesdames Rockell and Snowden beat Mesdames Savage and Comer, 2t>—l4; Mesdamcs Hodgkinson r,nd Drube beat Mesdameg Parker-Hill and- Dillicar, 20 —24; Mesdames Scrimshaw and Andrews beat Mesdamcs Hawken and Thomsen, 20— IS; Mesdames Wigzell and Crowley heat Mesdames Denz and Connell, 20—20; Mesdames Piirker-Hill and Dillicar beat Mescjamea Rockell and Snowden, 20—13; Mesdames O'Brien and Morrison beat Mesdames Gittos and Edgar, 20—11; Mesdames Cnrbon and Bern beat Mesdames Lamprell and Scott.-Br.ker, 20—10; Mesdames Hawken and Thomsen beat Mesdames Hodgkinson and Drube. 20—17; Mesdames Denz and Connell beat Mesdames Scott-Baker and Lamprell, 20—18; Mesdames Scrimshaw and Andrews beat Mesdames Comer and Savijge, 20t-16; Mesdames Carbon and Bern beat Mesdames Edgar and Gittos, 26—22.
