BOMB IN CATHEDRAL.
DISCOVERY AT ROME. PREVENTION OF DAMAGE. (Received February 16. 10.55 p.m.) ROME. Feb. 15. Little seriousness at first was attached to the discovery of a bomb on Saturday night in the Basilica of St. Peter's Cathedral behind the memorial to Fope Innocent XI. It was promptly thrown into a fountain and afterwards exploded. Experts say the bomb would have done grievous damage had it exploded in St. Peter's. It is thought possible that the bomb was placed in position on Thursday. The Prime Minister, Signor Mussolini, passed the memorial after his interview with the Pope.
