McDOUGAL AND LURICH. Supporters of Scotty McDougal, tlie Scotch-Canadian wrestler, who lias competed in Now Zealand with varying success for several seasons, will he interested to learn that lie is doing particularly well during the present season in America. Reports from the United States show that he has heen matched with some of the foremost mat men, the best-known of whom are .Jim Londos, heavy-weight champion of the world, and Dick Shikat, whom Londos heat for the. title in 1930. Against tho powerful Londos in a title match at Baltimore early in January McDougal went 39m. 455. before being slammed. In America most matches are without rounds until a fall is secured in a time limit. MeDougal's effort is all the more meritorious when it is recalled that Londos has not heen pinned for over 18 months. Against Shikat at Philadelphia on December 18 McDougal drew in a match in which lie won the plaudits of the crowd. Three days later at Madison Square Oarden, New York, before a crowd of 16.000 spectators, a house worth £BOOO, he drew with Matros Kirilenko. Tom Ltirich, who proved popular with enthusiasts last year, is doing well in Australia. Since arriving there he has riot been defeated. He has beaten Walter Browning twice and drawn with Billy Meeske and Pencheff.
