COUNTRY PARENTS PROTEST. [from our OWN- correspondent.] TE AROHA, Tuesday, 'flic action of the Education Department in discontinuing the commercial classes in country high schools was viewed with disapproval at a meeting of Te Aroha householders. Mr. 15. V. Fitzpatrick, who presided, said the department was making a " chopping block of the children in (lie interests of economy." There wero oilier ways in which economy could he exercised oilier than that of cutting into actual education. A resolution of protest was passed, and steps wero taken to prepare a petition.
