LOSS OF FINGERS.

COMPENSATION AWARDED. Judgment for £338 33s 5d was awarded to James l)uff McXamara, boxmaker, in a claim brought against William Casey, Limited, timber merchants. in the Arbitration Court yesterday. Mr. Justice Frazer presided. The claim, which was not con I est pel, was for compensation for the loss by plaintiff of a thumb, ring finger and first joint of tho index finger, through his hand coming in contact with a timber saw at, defendant's factory on September 10, 1931. Costs, £6 6s, were also granted to plaintiff.
