M. Bruce, in a 3000 word policy statement issued after tho speeches by Mr. J. IT. Scullin and Mr. J. A. Lyons, declares that Mr. Scullin lost tho greatest opportunity ever presented to an Australian statesman, when, on returning from England, lie put party before country. Thus ho exhibited vacillation, lack of courage and true leadership which disgusted even his own followers. "Tho re-election of Mr. Scullin's party," he continues, "will lead to the abandonment of the rehabilitation scheme with disastrous world-wide reactions. "Mr. Scullin's fanaticism on the question of tariffs is a real danger to Australia." Under the present Government's arbitration policy, Mr. Bruco says, a few irresponsibles and extremists will continue to dominate the lives and happiness of tho whole of Australia's workers. Tho menace of Communism must be extirpated.

AVOIDING INFLATION. MR. LYONS' DETERMINATION. NO TINKERING WITH CURRENCY. SYDNEY, Dec. 5. Slaking his first speech in the election campaign, Mr. J. T. Lang, speaking at Bankstown, Sydney, pledged the Lang Plan Party to an immediate and complete overhaul of tho credit structure and its rebuilding on the basis of nationalisation of banking. Mr. Hardy, a United Australia Party candidate for the Senate, speaking at Newcastle, said his party, if returned to power, would pass a law that would enable them to run the Communists out of the country. Mr. J. A. Lyons, Leader of tho United Australia Party, in a national broadcast speech from Melbourne, said: "Wo will pay our way with real money. Wo will resolutely avoid inflation. W T e will not on any consideration tinker with the currency.
