CARPENTER'S DEATH.

A verdict of suicide by gas poisoning was returned by the cororter, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S. M., on Saturday at an inquest concerning the death on December 3 of Harry White, ship's carpenter. Deceased was found in an apartment o! a house in Scarborough Terrace, Parnell, with his head in a gas oven. A land agent gave evidence that White had rented the premises on the day before itiis death. Deceased was about 50 years of age and had no relatives in New Zealand,.
