SATURDAY'S SALES. RETURN ON INVESTMENTS. Following 3s a list of Saturday's transactions on New Zealand Stock Exchanges. In the second column is given the return, based on the last annual divided, from investment at the quoted price. In the case of Government and other redeemable securities the roturn includes redemption. In calculating the returns on shares in companies which pay their dividends outsido New Zealand exchange rates, being liable to fluctuation, have not been taken into consideration. GOLD STILL HIGHER. LONDON PRICE £5 16s 6d. SILVER ALSO FIRMER. (Received November 29, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Nov. 28. Gold is quoted to-day at £5 16s 6d an 07,. compared with £5" 14s 2d on Thursday. Silver is quoted at 191-8 spot and 19 5-16 forward, compared with 18 9-16 and 18 7-lb on Thursday. FOREIGN EXCHANGES. STERLING AGAIN WEAKER. British Wireless. RUGBY, Nov. 27. STERLING AT MONTREAL. DECLINE OF SIX CENTS. (Received November 29. 5.5 p.m) MONTREAL, Nov. 28. Sterling is quoted to-day at 4 dollars 7 cents, same as yesterday, compared with 4 dollars 13 cents on Thursday. CUSTOMS EXCHANGE RATES. Rates of exchange ruling at the announced date of departure of the vessels named arc shown in the following table. NEW CANADIAN LOAN. EXCELLENT RESPONSE. MONTREAL, Nov. 27. The central committee which is handling the 5 per cent. National Service loan of £30,000,000 issued a statement to-day that the first four days' sales realised £.20,200,000. It is expected that on the conclusion of the campaign on December 12 the loan will have been heavily oversubscribed.
