ROBBERY IN MELBOURNE. ARMED BANDITS ESCAPE. MELBOURNE, Nov. 21. While Plain-clothes Constable Charles Dei'ham, aged 29, was acting as an armed escort for three employees of a city firm who wero carrying a bag containing £940 to a bank, ho was shot through the head when three armed bandits held the party up in Flinders Lane. The robbers seized the money and escaped in a motor-car. The street was crowded at the time with late shoppers. The injured constable's condition is critical-
