FOUR MEN IMPRISONED.
UNLAWFULLY IN WORKSHOP. METHYLATED SPIRITS ADDICTS. A charge of being found without lawful excuse in a workshop in Jcllicoe Street ■was jointly preferred against four men in the Police Court on Saturday. The accused, Harry Collins, aged 52, seaman; Ernest Edward Cox, 48, labourer; John Ryan, 37, ship's fireman; and Joseph Daley, 30, ship's fireman, pleaded guilty. ' Detective-Sergeant Kelly said accused all had bad records and had been convicted on numerous occasions for various offences. They had been drinking methylated spirits and prior to being arrested were warned by the police. The magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, sentenced each man to one month's imprisonment.
