WHEN YOU GO ON HOLIDAY.
Don't choose such an expensive hotel or boardinghouse that you've very little left for pocket-money; nothing is more wretched than having to squeeze and scrape on holiday. Don't dream only of blue skies and sunshine—wake up and pack some warm undies and a woolly suit or two in case of disappointment. Don't anticipate a, glorious romance with a happy ending—romance comes to those who least expect it. Don't promise to send post-cards to all and sundry—vou'll only feel guilty about having forgotten piost of them, and earn reproaches on your return. Don't he too anxious to get brown, or you'll probably find yourself horribly overdone. Don't put powder on a. peeling nose—a, red nose is bad enough, but a purple one is worse! Don't stay up late every evening if you want to look your best for those carnival nights on the pier. Don't scrape too many acquaintances in the hope of finding the ideal holiday companion—even holiday-makers falk, and when he does come along he may think you a fast little flirt and better avoided. Don't be too anxious to give him your home, address—that, is, if you really want, him to use it. Don't expect that.jolly holiday companion to appear the same when you meet him in town—as a matter of fact, you'd think him a perfect clown if ha were.
