A DRESSER SUBSTITUTE.
The old-fashioned dresser still found in so many homes is not nearly so' useful as it looks. Everyone knows the trouble of reaching up to the top shelf, with the result that things are put on the dresser and left there, and the dresser ends by being merely an ornament. A much more useful piece of furniture which can be substituted, is a long narrow table fitted with shelves and cupboards underneath. The shelves can hold all the articles in daily use, and the top can be used as an ordinary table. If the table is placed in a good light, and near to the stove, many steps will be saved.
