TEA FOR THE QUEEN.
INCIDENT AT DOLLS' PARTY. WELFARE SETTLEMENT VISIT. LONDON. Nov. 1. "Would you like a cup of tea?" shyly lisped three-year-old Doris Craig, offering a doll's teacup to the Queen, when Her Majesty unexpectedly visited St. Margaret's Welfare Settlement, at Bethnal Green, during a dolls' tea party. Tho Queen smilingly accepted the proffered cup, and assisted the tiny hostess to pour imaginary tea. from the toy teapot, pretending to add milk and sugar. Her Majesty renewed her acquaintance with mothers whom she met when they were children. Visiting tho municipal wash-house, tho Queen asked to be photographed among the housewives, who hastily dried their arms and endeavoured to roll down their sleeves.
