ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.

A highly successful concert in aid of the funds of the Onehunga division of St. John Ambulance Association was held in the Presbyterian Hall on luesday evening. Instrumental items were given bv Messrs. H. King. R. Jackson and L. Jack-ion; songs by Miss P. Schnackenberg, Miss B. Thompson and Messrs. Ker and J. Simpson; violin SOIO3 by Mr. Engel; piano solo by Miss P. Coates; male quartettes by Messrs. Nicholls, Kirkwood, Ker and Walker. Mr. Rushen contributed whistling solos. An ambulance display directed by Corps-Officer Hitchon proved very interesting, those taking 'part being Privates Westcott, King, Terry and Smith, winners of the Jordan Cup. Humour was provided by Mr. W. Roberts. Graceful dances, "In a Fairy Wood" and "The Welsh Dance," were given by llonka and Paula Erdrnaii, Adrianne Henwood, Rae Loney, lTora MacKenzie, Madge Peake, Gwen Phillips, Margaret Thorburn and Bunt.y Vella. A dance phantasy entitled " Romance of the Dancer " was contributed by Mrs. Winton and the Misser, E. Birch, I'. Coates, K. Kirk wood. Mabel Smith and Muriel Smith. A vote of thanks to the performers was proposed by Ihe Mayor, Mr. E. Morton. Mr. E. G. Cow ell acted as stage manager, and the accompanists for the evening were Mrs. Harvey, Miss P. Coates and Miss Ker.
