AN UNOFFICIAL RACE. SYDNEY, Nov. It. The Sydney Morning Herald tells of an unofficial race across tho Tasman Sea between the Maunganui and the Sierra, of the Mat son Line. The Maunganui sailed 95 minutes before (he Matson liner and passed through the Sydney Heads 5 hours 28 minutes ahead of her rival. Tho Maunganui maintained a speed of knots and thus easily won the honours. Another unusual feature of the voyage was that the Maunganui passed tho Ulimaroa bound for Auckland on Sunday morning, and a few hours later the Ulimaroa passed the Sierra.
