WORKERS' RAILWAY TICKETS. SUGGESTION FOR CONFERENCE. ]n reply to the Papakura Town Board's request that workers' weekly railway tickets should be made available on trains arriving in Auckland before 9 a.m., the general manager of railways, Mr. H. H. Ster dug. informed (he board at its meeting on Monday that Hie request could not be acceded to. If was decided to approach suburban local bodies affected asking them to appoint representatives to attend a conference at an early date to discuss the question of workers' tickets. A resolution of protest against the heavy valuation fees and charges, which were considered to be out of all proportion to the very little work done, was carried.
