PRESENTATIONS.

The presentation of the gold medal of tho New Zealand Institute of Architects was made to Mr. S. S. Alleman, of Auckland, at. the annual meeting of tho Auckland branch. The medal is presented annually to the architect designing the building which, in the opinion of tho Royal Institute of Mriti.-h Architects, is tho best-designed building of the year, and was awarded to Mr. Alleman for his work in designing Hampton Court flats in Wellcsley Street West-.-The presentation was made by Mr. JJ. Mandeno, of Dunedin, president of th<» New Zealand Institute, who attended specially for the purpose. A travelling rug and an umbrella were presented to Mr. D. G. Meredith by the members of the Hamilton Bowling Club prior to his departure for To Aroha. 'I he president, Mr. E. G. Johnson, said Mr. Meredith had a distinguished record of. service with tho club. He had been a member for 19 years, had been president, for three years and treasurer for six years. He had also been president of tho South Auckland Centre. As a bowler he had had successes at three Uotorua tournaments, three South Auckland Centre tournaments and tournaments at Tauranga, To Awamutu and Hamilton. Mr. Meredith suitably responded.
