CHARGES AGAINST YOUTH. OBSCENE LANGUAGE USED. Tlircc charges of using obscene languagi vera admitted by John Evan Vaut Everett, aged 19, salesman, in the Polio Court yesterday. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said that 01 I October 29 accused visited a city cabare' and when asked to leave by the manage: he refused and used objectionable lan guage. McKean, imposed a fine of £3, in default seven days' imprisonment, on one charge. On the other charges accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence ii called upon within six months. Suppression of his name was refused. A man and a woman who were arrested in an unoccupied house in Sale Street, tree-man's Bay, on Saturday evening were jointly charged with being found withou lawful excuse within enclosed premises. Ihe accused, Kathleen Myra Henderson aged 46, domestic, and Edward Vincent Siader, aged 37, ieadlight worker, pleaded not guilty. A constable said he found th< two accused seated in a front room drink ing beer arid smoking cigarettes. The; had no authority to be in the house. Ir sentencing the woman accused to on< month's imprisonment the magistrate saic she had been convicted for various offences 23 times. Siader, who had not previously offended, was convicted and d;s charged. A mining engineer, Thomas George d? Renzv, aged 80, was charged with obtain ing from G. Wilton and Company, b\ means of a worthless cheque, money anc goods oi a total value of £7. On the application of the police, accused was re rnanded for a week, bail of £SO being allowed. Albert Edward Best, aged 34, labourer, who pleaded not guilty to a charge oi committing an offence against a gir under the age of 16. was committed tc the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was refused.
