ONEHUNGA DRAINAGE.
PROPOSED LOAN .OF_, £4850. The Onohunga Borough Council was advised last evening by the Treasury that an Order-in-Council would be gazetted sanctioning the raising of the Angle Street drainage loan of £4850 for a term of 36j years, with interest at 5| per cent, and a sinking fund of one per cent. Authority was received from the Board of Health for the council to expend up to £4850, on the work. A letter from the Manukau Cruising Club stated the club viewed with alarm the council's proposal to build a road across the mouth of Geddes' Basin, which was the only boat harbour it had. The club asked that a wall be constructed to afford soma protection to boats. The Mayor, Mr. E. Morton, said the council hacTalready provided another suitable anchorage for the boats.
