END OF DISEASE.
PREVENTION BY SCIENCE. POSSIBILITY OF FUTURE. LONDON, Sept. 22. " The dream of a world freed from disease and deformity is becoming an everincreasing possibility," declares Sir Arthur Keith, the eminent British surgeon and scientist. " The cause of cancer and the causa of man's evolution arc parts of the 6am© problem of growth. " Some day science will be able to regulato both malignant and benign growth so efficiently that cancer w ill ba prevented and evolution controlled But cradles will always be filled M they are 1 to-day, he adds, in an article relating to the Science Congress. "It seems possible that our greatgrandchildren may, if they wish, produce progeny in humanly-contrived incubatois. " I am certain, however, that no incubator can equal the efficiency, economy and reliability of Nature's method. Science cannot improve upon Nature in this respect." Sir Arthur Keith, a graduate of Aberdeen University, was president of th» British Association in 1927. Among his published works are " Human Embryology and Morphology," " Religion of a Darwinist," and " Concerning Man's Origin." He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons.
