INDUCTION OF MINISTER.

SERVICE AT OPOTIKI. [from our own correspondent.] OPOTIKI, Thursday. There was a largo gathering at St. John's Presbyterian Church, Opotiki, on Tuesday evening on the occasion of the" induction as minister of St. John's of the Rev. D. N. McDiarmid. Tho charge was rendered vacant by tho death of the Rev. D. Hird in November last. The Rev. William Butterworth, moderator of tho Bay of Plenty Presbytery, inducted Mr. McDiarmid as minister of the congregation. Mr, McDiarmid now becomes moderator of tho Bay of Plenty Presbytery.
