YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH'. Auckland.—There was a continuation of fine weather yesterday, but the sky was dull and overcast and the southerly wind made the conditions cold. A further rise was registered in the barometer and tiie reading last night was 30.1C)in. Wellington.—The mist experienced ofi Tuesday cleared during the night and yesterday was bright and sunny. The wind was from the north. Christchurch. —The weather to-day was summery, the thermometer rising to 74 degrees "owing <o the north-west v ind. Hie barometer was steady at about <:!9.7oin. Dunedin. —The weather was changeable yesterday. A strong wind from this north-west during the early part of the morning was succeeded by hgn* rain before and after mid-day. theia was a flat calm during the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 63 degrees. The barometer was fairly steady and registered 29.70 in. in the evening.
