MAN BURNED TO DEATH.
FIRE AT TAUMARUNUI. ROOM A MASS OF FLAMES. [BT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] TAUMARUNUI, Wednesday. Robert Chelberg, aged 65, who occupied a room in a detached building at the rear of the Regent Hotel, was burned to death at midnight-. When the fire was noticed the room was a mass of flames, and it was impossible for anyone to extricate the doomed man. The fire brigade, however, soon had the fire under control. The cause of the fire is not known. Chelberg is said to have been in the habit of smoking in bed.
