RECEIPTS IN AUCKLAND. FIGURES FOR NINE MONTHS. DROF OF £547,760 SHOWN. A decline of £33,1329 in revenue from customs duties '.vas recorded in Auckland last month. The total was £136.005, compared with £169,834 in September, 1930. Hie figures for the first nine months of the year reveal a decline relatively more severe. The amount collected during that period was £1.094.091, compared with £1,641,851 , during the corresponding months last year, a decline of £547,760, which averages slightly over £60.000 a month. The revenue derived from petrol taxation and tyre duties last month was £43,137, compared with £36,520 in September, 1930, an increase of £6617. Receipts from tyre duties were lower, but. there was a substantial increase in the revenue from petrol taxation. From both sources the revenue for the first nine months of the year was £398,066, an increase of £17,449 on the 1930 total of £320,617. The complete revenue received in Auckland last month under the three heads was £179,141!, compared with £206,354 for September, 1930, a drop of £27,212. Figures lor Year to Date. A furtbar substantial decrease is recorded in the customs revenue collected at Wellington fo:r September. The total was £175,043, compared with £283,136 in Septem oer last year, a drop of £108,143. For the nine months of this year the revenue was £1,677,229, against £2,316,080 for the corresponding period last year, a decrease of £638,851. The du.y collected on motor spirit last month wis £40,561, against £36,170 in September last year. For nine months the totals are £376,860 and £324,568 respectively. The tyre tax last month was £1524. against £2332 in September, 1930, the figures for the nine months being £20,111, against £28,397.
