ECONOMIC COMMISSION.
FRANCE AND GERMANY. CLOSER CO-OPERATION. DISPOSAL OF PRODUCTS. TARIFF NOT INVOLVED. By Telegraph -Picks Association—Copyright. (Received September 20. 7.1"> p.m.) BERLIN, Sept. 09. After close discussions between the French Frinie Minister, M. Laval, the German and French Foreign Ministers, Dr. Curtius and M. Briand, it was announced that an Economic Commission would be created to devise means for closer cooperation between Franco and Germany. Tho members will include business leaders and representatives of labour, as well as political representatives of both countries. The commission will meet either in France or Germany, as desirable, and will seek new means of disposing of the products of the two countries without raising tariff barriers. Dr. Curtius and M. Briand will be alternating presidents of the commission. M. Laval later expressed the hope that an era of better understanding between Franco and Germany had begun, which would benefit tho whole world. It is understood that the President, Dr. Bruening, and Dr. Curtius tried to include in the communique a hint of an effort to obtain an eventual Franco-German customs union, but it was omitted because it might arouse misgivings in Italy. The commission will start work immediately.
