MONEY IN HANDBAG LOST.
LEFT IN TELEPHONE BOX. SUM OF £155 VANISHES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Tuesday. Left in a public telephone cabinet in Panama Street this afternoon, a lady's handbag containing £155 had vanished when the owner returned after an absence of one minute. The loser Miss L. Andrew, of Britoraart Street, Berhampore. She stated that the money had been drawn from the bank and she had an appointment later in the day with a solicitor who was to take custody of it. Miss Andrew said she placed the bag on top of the telephone and left without it. She hurried back, but found nothing. She considered it unlikely that anybody had time to use the telephone before her return. Shff saw nobody enter or leave the cabinet. The money was all in £5 notes.
