MUNGANA COMMISSION.
COST TO GOVERNMENT. TOTAL OF £6465. When replying to a question in the Queensland Legislative Assembly recently the Premier, Mr. Moore, said that- ihe total cost to the Government of the Mungani Royal Commission was £6465. Of that amount the sum of £1271 was paid to Mr. Justice Campbell as fees and expenses, £lOlB to Mr. A. D. McGilii £1203 to Messrs. Fitzgerald and Vnalsh, and £596 to Messrs. White and Hancock. Other details of expenditure were: —Railway fares, £576; steamer fares, £25 10s; witnesses' expenses, £410; travelling expenses of officials, £164; Mr. P. L. Hart, barrister, £100; secretary's salary and allowance, £203; typing, £265; expenses in respect of exhibits, photographing* overtime and wages, £122.
