ELEVEN HUNDRED PER CENT. A statement was made to the! Australian Tariff Board lately that on cheap imitation pearl buttons the protection is as hisrh as 1100 per cent. The board was considering an application by a Sydney manufacturing company thai the proposed duty on imitation pearl buttons, as amended by a resolution of June 4, 1931, should be confirmed. Evidence was taken in support of and against the application.
