DANGEROUS DRIVING. IGNORING A RED FLAG. Mr. John Amerv, of London, a, son of Mr. L. S. Amerv, M.P., appeared at Kingston County Police Court- recently to answer a summons charging him with driving a motor-car in a dangerous mani ner on the Kingston bv-pass road, j Evidence .was given that defendant j ignored the traffic signals at an obstruction and drove past a man holding a red flag, who had to jump out of the way to avoid being knocked down. The number of the car was taken and latpr Mr. Amery was seen by a policeman, to whom he said, "Musi I stop when I see a man waving a red flag?" . Defendant now said that he had no recollection of the incident, although he frequently drove on the-by-passrroard r He had four cars and sometimes these were used by his friends without his knowledge. A case was pending in another Court in which one of his friends was charged with driving one of the cars dangerously. A fine of £lO, with £3 12s 6d costs, *vas imposed. . ~ .. -
