[ The New Zealand Women's Association j observed Dominion Day at a luncheon to- ; day, when there was a large and enthnsii astic attendance. The guests included : consular representatives and leading J citizens. , The speeches expressed confidence that j the Dominion, as well as Australia, the S country of their adoption, would soon regain a measure of prosperity comj mensural e with their progress in t.he arts ' of peace, and the co-operative fellow--1 ship of trade and commerce. AUCKLAND OBSERVATION. \ SOME BUSINESSES CLOSED. Dominion Day, the 24th anniversary of | the elevation of New Zealand from the ! status of a self-governing colony to that I of a Dominion, was observed yesterday, j Although not a general holiday the j Supreme Court, the banks, the Stock E::- , change and many professional offices were ! closed.
