PRESENTATIONS.
A farewell was tendered at Whancarw yesterday morning to Mr. 11. S. McMath. inspector of permanent way, Whangaiei. who retired this month after 31 yeai s _ service in the Railway Department. Mi. I. Howell, district engineer, Auckland, who presided over a large gatheiing, referred to the efficient way in which Mr. McMath had always discharged his official duties. sM l '- Howei presented Mr. McMath with a bowlers bag, canteen of cutlery, a pipe atl ? tobacco pouch, and. a table.
