PRISONER'S APPETITE.
SPOON, CHAIN AND STAPLE. - Frank Sheridan, aped 28, a niotoi driver, of Leeds, should have appeared 08 remand at the Blackpool Court recent!} • When the case was called the deputy chief constable said that Sheridan was supplied with the ordinary prisoners food, which included jam, and he was given a spoon with which to cat tne jam. Sheridan said that while he was allowed out of liis cell for a few niinuteJ ■ on the previous day he had torn a and a staple from the door and swallowed them and a spoon. Sheridan was examined by the polica surgeon, but seemod to have no pain, an the surgeon doubted whether his state- . ; j menfc was true. It was, however, da; .. cided to have him X-rayed, and , examination proved his statement to P* true. On the application of the deputy j. chief constable a roinand was granted.
