Although some of the most noted ehow cattle exhibited in New Zealand have been produced at Maesgwyn, the Herd has been continually culled on a production basis only. Practically the whole of the Herd is descended from Miss Cutl 11. and the famous imported cow Dominion Newton Gipsy. Maesgwyn Princess, Royal Champion and holder of N.Z. auction price of 505 guineas; Maesgwyn Hazel. 0951b. fat and N.Z. record holder, with '20,0001b. milk; Maesgwyn Victoria, N.Z. Champion three-year-old. GJOlb. fat; and Maesgwyn Matchlight, sire of male and female Champions and Reserve Champion at the 192S Royal, are some of the notabilities j produced in the herd. The best, butter-fat bred sires obtainable have been used. The present eires are Greenbank Stylo (dam. 8001b. fat. in nino months, incompleted record), sire of South Island Champion Cow last year, etc., and Maesgwyn Kin*?
