motor-car driver fined.

SEQUEL TO DRURY ACCIDENT

A collision on July 13 at a bridge at Drury, when a van carrying children to the Drury school capsized and one child was severely injured, had a sequel in the Papakura Police Court yesterday. A car driver, William Andrew McDonald, of Arapuni, .vas fined £2 and costs, £3 7s, for negligent driving. The magistrate, Mr. F. IT. Levicn, held that flic evidence showed that McDonald was at fault through driving almost right up to the bridge while the van was coming off it, the two vehicles colliding. It was a one-way bridge, and although defendant might not have been .aware of this, said the magistrate, it was Ins duty to have observed the fact as he ncared the bridge.
