White, M.Sc., a former student of Victoria University College, has been appointed lecturer in physics at King's College, London. Mv. White has been working in the Cavendish Laboratory under Lord Rutherford. Mr. W. Kirby, of Sydney, Mr. J. Rennie, of Christchurch, and Mr. W. J. Blundell, Mr. C! Eskell, Mr. R. Nelson and Mr. I!. W. McVilly, of Wellington, who have been visiting Auckland, left for the South last evening. Dr. John M. L airri, who was surgeon on the steamer Northumberland at the time of the Napier earthquake, and was the first doctor from outside the earthquake area to render assistance in Napier, is conducting a mission for students in Dunedin this week, at the invitation of the Otago University Evangelical Union.
