FANCY DRESS SEASON.

RUFFLES AND MUFFS. There are leading fashion points given by a London authority:— Much wider skirts. A higher waist line, tightly defined by a 6in. wide belt. Slightly shorter evening gowns, frequently with puff sleeves and short gloves. Harem trousers instead of dinner pyjamas. Short, tight bodices. Tight sleeves, extravagantly poached above tho elbow. Liberal use of ruffles and bows. Muffs of fur or fabric with everything. Boat-shaped, tip-tilted hats. Shorter hair. It will be a fancy-dress fashion season. Women will dress up in clothes that will make them look as if they had stepped from the Arabian Nights, Velasquez pictures, tho Court of Louis XV., or a novel by Mrs. Henry Wood.
