RAIN.
The rain, it raineth every day. On vales and hills and ditches; There'll be rivers in the gutters, And lakes along the street ; It'll make our lazy pussy Wash her dirtv little feet.
The Foses will wear diamonds. Like kings and queens at court, But the pansies all get muddy Because they arc so short. I'll sail inv boat to-morrow, In wonderful new places, But first I'll take my watering can, And wash the pansies' faces. —By Eileen Garrett, Upper Papamoa Tauranra. (CopieJ.)
