WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.

Happy Valley.—The monthly meeting of the Happy Valley Institute was held at Mtvs. E. J. Ogle's residence. A lecture on house planning was read by Mrs. Perry and a competition arranged by Mrs. Harrison resulted in a tie for Mrs. J. Wooster and Mrs. Perry. The hostesses were Mrs. Rrownloe and Miss Donellev. Te Atatu. —At the monthly meeting of the Te Atatu Women's Institute remits for discussion at the annual meeting of the Federated Institutes to be held in October were read and discussed and delegates instructed how to vote. A roll call, "Suggestions for Christmas Gifts," brought forth many useful and attractive articles. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Adamson, Chitty and Pijacun.
