The American sire Peterwah was well represented in the straight-out trotters' events at the Wellington meeting last Sat; iiiday. both Great Way. winner of the Nai Nai Handicap, and Wah, winner of the Wilford Handicap, being sired by him. These two are endowed with fine speed, but they are lacking in solidness, otherwise they would have been racing in better company ere this. Bridgcn Brothers, of Auckland for four figures, but after failing to win in his first few stalls, ho was acquired by Mrs. E. Berryniah, of Wellington, for a, hundred less, and was plnced in C. S. Donald's charge. As a threo-year-old. Great Way dead-heated with Great Nelson in the Foibury Park Trotting Stakes, a race which Peterwah won in 19*2-1. and for which he holds the timo record of 3m 36 3-ss. Wah, who was got from the Harold Dillon mare Amy Dillon, raced successfully as a three-year-old for his breeder, 11. C. Fiskcn. who shortly afterwards sold him to Mr. Morgan O'Brien, of Christchureh. Placed in W. J. Tomkinson's hands, Wah soon showed marked ability on the tracks, but ho seldom reproduced it with the colours up. Last, season he was transferred to the charge of S. A.
