LATE DR. GORDON CRAIG.
NOTED AUSTRALIAN SURGEON Australia has produced few greater surgeons than Dr. Gordon Craig, whose death occurred recently at his station at Binnaway, New South Wales. A native of Ayrshire, Scotland, he was educated at the Sydney Grammar School, George Watson's College, Edinburgh, and the Sydney University, where he graduated M-B* Ch.M. in 1894. During a distinguished academic career he won numerous honours, among them the university gold medal awarded to the student who exhibited the greatest proficiency at the M.B. examination. Brilliant as was his academic work, Dr. Craig's professional career was even ™. or ® so. After a year as resident medical officer at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, he entered into private practice at Newtown, and later moved o Alacquarie Street. In 1911 lie became an honorary surgeon at the Royal 1 rince Alfred Hospital, and later took oyer t ie post of urological surgeon. He also acted as honorary urologist to the Royal Alexandra Hospital lor Children. , During his lifetime he made gilts totalling £20,000 to Sydney University for the advancement of research yor , in addition to handing over his luuyequipped laboratory to that institution.
