"THE ARCADIANS."
HAMILTON AMATEUR REVIVAL. RETURN OF OLD FAVOURITE. Th© reappearanc© of Miss Sophie Vivian, the talented Dunedin girl, in tho forthcoming revival of " Tho Arcadians," to be staged by tho Hamilton Operatic Society at the Theatre Royal, Hamilton, commencing on October 5 for a season of six nights, will bring back to many Auckland theatregoers memories of this performer's clever work with several of the productions staged by Sir Benjamin and John Fuller, at tho old Opera House. In " The Arcadians," Miss Yivian will take the part of Eileen Cavanagh, " The Girl With a Bit of a Brougo," in which part she will have the opportunity of displaying tho dainty talents which have won for her such favourable comment from timo to time. " Tho Arcadians" bids fair to bo an outstanding success, and of an even higher standard than the many fine productions staged by the society in tho past.
Apart from Miss Vivian herself, the other principals have all had experience, and seem suited to their respective parts. Foremost among the cast are:—Sombra, Mrs. Myra Booth; Mrs. Smith, Mrs. H. Varney; Chrysoa, Miss D. Clapham; Simplicitas, Mr. Shakeshaft; Jack Meadows, Mr. R. Jones; "Poter Doody, Mr. W. Frye. No effort is being spared to make the production a success. The presentation is in the hands of Mrs. C. Tabor-Gregory, of Palmerston North, and the profits are to ho handed to the Welfare League, for charily yflicf.
