LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.

On Wednesday afternoon, in the reception room at tho Farmers' Trading Co., the Grey Lynn League of Mothers entertained at afternoon tea the provincial president and secretary as well as the speakers and entertainers at the branch meetings held during the past ten months. Mrs. Hynes, the president, welcomed the guests, and Mrs. A. M. Ferguson replied. During the afternoon, Mrs. Macdonald, with Miss Pickering as accompaniste, sang the songs, "All Joy Be Thine" and "Birds at Eventide," for which she was enthusiastically encored. Mrs. White gave a humorous reading "Mother's Birthday,' and as an encore recited "Love's Labour Lost.

ST. HELIERS

The monthly meeting of the St. Heliers branch of the League of Mothers was well attended. Mrs. St. Clair Inglis presided. A very interesting debate, Are Mothers Appreciated?", was held by the members, Mrs. Dromgool, Mrs. Gisby, Mrs. GloverClarke, Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Guiver taking part. Mrs. Perkins also spoke on •' Bible in Schools." A very interesting and useful meeting was concluded by afternoon tea, given by Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. St. Clare, Mrs. Bayfield and Mrs. Dromgool. __________
