GIRL GUIDES.
Tho quarterly meeting of the combined committees of the Girl Guides' Association was held this week at the Dominion headquarters. There were present: —Miss B. M. Knight, Divisional Commissioner, who presided; Mrs. R. J. Coates, .actingProvincial Commissioner; Mrs. Thomson, District Commissioner, and a large number of committee members. Mrs. Coates reported that tho " shop" held recently to raise funds for provincial headquarters had resulted in a profit of £69. This sum was still inadequate to meet demands and suggestions were made for further efforts to raise money. It was. decided eventually to hold a garden party in November* with various attractive side-shows and competitions. The proposal that the next meeting take the form of a day at Otimai, the Guide home, was received unanimously, November 12 being the day fixed. All committee members are invited and arrangements are to bo made for transport by bus. Twelve new members were enrolled and the meeting adjourned,
