HORTICULTURAL WORK.
SOCIETY AT M ATA M ATA. [from our own correspondent. J MATAMATA, Tuasday. After several conferences between the Matamata Beautifying Society and the Matamata Agricultural and *Pastoral Association; both societies have decided to combine to assist in forming the Matamata Horticultural Society, with a view to holding a flower show during the first week in December. The election of the first officers of the new society resulted as follows:—President, Mr. W. S. Wilson; vice-presidents, Messrs. l A. Young and D. N. Hay; secretary, Mr. F. Banks; committee, Mesdames Bluck, West, Madill, Stone, Young, Hollis, Stevens, Caseyi Trundle, E. C. Banks, W. S. Wilson, Messrs. Trundle,. Young, West, Bowler, Tong, Connor, Griffiths and O'Dwyer.
