PLAY AT OTAHUHU.
The Ellerslio branch of the Girls' Friendly Society presented a titled "A Romance of Robin Hood" to a large and appreciative audience in the Public Hall, Otahuhu, on Tuesday evening. The function was organised under the auspices of the.Holy Trinity Church, Otahului. The play, which was produced under the direction of the author, Mrs. E. Schmitt, 'was successfully staged, the musical numbers and the acting being of a very high standard. The principal characters were-Winifred Hill (Sir John Digby); Elsie Meredith (Lady ■ Digby); Eva Stares (Marian), Doris East (GVegory), Mavis Thomas (William), Myra Keesing and Thelma Bond (pages), Katherine Pounsett (Little John), Marion Smith (Friar Tuck), Ina Williamson (Will Scarlet), Mary Brown (Mutch, the 'Miller), Lila Bond (Alan-a-dale), Hazel Johnson (Prunella), Gladys Ryan (Richard the Lion-Heart), Beryl Prent.ico (Robin Hood). The musical programme comprised choruses, solos, duets, ensembles, and dance-songs. The Rev. R. J. Stanton, vicar of the church, proposed * vote of thanks to the producers and players. t?
