POSTAL OFFICERS' GUILD.
OPENING OF CONFERENCE. INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP. [BY TET/EGRAPJI. —PKESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The annual conference of the Post and Telegraph Officers' Guild was opened today by the Postmaster-General, the Hon. J. B." Donald. The chairman, Mr. J. M. McLean, Wellington, expressed pleasure tha ( t every district was represented. The membership had increased to approximately 800 financial members. The position was satisfactory, in spite of several claims on the deatli benefit fund during the year. The Minister spoke on the financial position and expressed sympathy with the Public Service on account of what had happened during the past few months, lie was optimistic, however, of improvement in the not far distant future.
