'A Maori boy, Sidney Maxwell, aged IS years, son of Mr. George Maxwell, Awahou, was accidentally shot this afternoon by another lad of the same age. The two boys apparently were having a Bhani fight on the side of the roaa and one discharged a loaded shotgun. His companion received the charge afc close range and it shattered his right leg below the knee. The injured boy was picked up by an aunt, who was near by and was taken to a whare. Later he was brought to the hospital at Rotorua, where an operation was performed immediately.
