INTOXICATED DRIVER.
MAN FINED £5 AT OPOTIKi. [bt telegraph.—own cob respondent.] OPOTIKI, Wednesday. A cream carrier, F. C. Parkinson, appeared in the Police Court to-day charged .■with being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-lorry. Sergeant Miller said accused was intercepted on Saturday when about to drive his motor-lorry away. Ho was then intoxicated Mr. Hodgson, for accused,, stated that Parkinson had no time for dinner that day and this had caused the liquor to have an effect on hirn. Accused 'was fined £5 and his licence was cancelled and an order was made prohibiting the issue of a further licence for 12 months. Accused also agreed to take out a prohibition order.
